Town centre vacancy rates in the UK have risen from 12% at the end of 2009 to 14.5% at the end of 2010 amid a north/south divide in the country and a divide between large and smaller centres. With sports retailer JJB Sports entering a CVA for the second time, UK landlords are faced with a sharp dilemma between hard-balling struggling retailers and stemming rising vacancy rates.
