The UK’s rapidly maturing c-store market looks almost certain to become even more competitive should one of the country’s two largest grocers snap up frozen food specialist Iceland. While Tesco and Sainsbury’s have moved to establish strong positions with neighbourhood stores, the other pair in the grocery big four have not yet embarked on roll outs of smaller sites on British high streets.
