UK entertainment group HMV has been given a lifeline by its banks after it secured a new two-year refinancing plan but the company will now need to address its store strategy as it attempts to turn round the business. HMV’s fate remains far from secure despite the stay of execution and the retailer will need to persuade lenders and landlords that it has a viable retail future.
