Further signs that the Balkan retail market has come back to life emerged last week as a project mothballed for two years started on site again, with delivery expected by 2013. Groundwork has now started close to Sarajevo International Airport, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the ACS Airport shopping centre. It will be built by ACS, which is 80% owned by Vienna-based pair IPD Group and the Karimpol Group of Companies and 20% owned by the state-owned Sarajevo Airport company.
