ECE plans to develop a new shopping centre in Budapest.
The project area is located in the Northwestern part of the Hungarian capital, close to the Danube River, on the site of a former textile factory in the Óbuda district. It is planned to have over 170 shops on three levels and a leasable area of more than 50,000 sq m.
Construction start for the project is scheduled for 2019, and the opening is planned for 2021.
“We are planning the most modern and attractive shopping center in Hungary. It is intended to set new standards in terms of the mix of tenants and retail sectors, service offerings, and visitor experience,” said Christoph Augustin, Project Director at ECE and Managing Director of ECE in Hungary. “To ensure these goals are met, we are applying our decades of experience as Europe’s market leader in the shopping center industry and the latest findings of ECE into this project.”
In addition to a tenant mix comprising top international brands and local vendors, ECE’s plans for the new development project – which comes with a unique architectural concept and a bright and spacious design – feature a spectacular gastronomy area.
An offering of around 15 select food concepts is planned, ranging from good quick-service options and trendy casual restaurants through to fine dining restaurants. Visitors will be served high-quality local and international food and drinks prepared in a modern style and with fresh ingredients.
The restaurant area is located next to a large roof garden with a sun terrace where customers will be able to relax and spend their free time. Plans for the project also include bringing an ultramodern cinema with 4D technology to the centre.
RPA Perspective ECE has also launched the test of another innovative pilot project at Skyline Plaza in Frankfurt by introducing “Easy Dining.”
This for the first time provides a digital platform at one of its operated centres where customers can order and pay their food and drinks at the food court online. The idea for this innovative pilot project is based on the current trend to digitalise ordering processes for food services and provide customers with a simple and comfortable digital solution to order food at the centre.
Six restaurants of Skyline Plaza will participate in an initial test period for “Easy Dining”. The aim is to gain experience with the system's functionality during live operations, test the collaboration with the food retailers, and find out whether the system appeals to the customers. During the next step, more food retailers of the centre, whose owners include Allianz und CA Immo, will be added.
“The Easy Dining ordering platform has been created to meet ECE's prime objective, to provide customers with a pleasant and comfortable experience in the centre, and deliver a real value with our services,” said Joanna Fisher, Managing Director Centre Management at ECE. “The pilot project is another example for our approach to always develop new services for our customers and to prove their worth during live operations.”
