Ian is the co-founder and Managing Director of We Are Apps. He has spent 18 years working in advertising and marketing agencies, focusing on digital communications since 2001. Before setting up We Are Apps he was the Digital Creative Director of one of the UK’s leading independent advertising agencies, creating campaigns for brands including Continental Airlines, Ford, HSBC, Royal Mail and Tesco to name a few. We Are Apps is a specialist developer of applications for mobile devices. It has also created the Geemo proximity marketing platform that utilises, amongst other technologies, iBeacons to deliver location-relevant messaging to smartphone users. We Are Apps created Value Retail’s first applications for their outlet villages across Europe and more recently created a retail leasing iPad application for Westfield’s London locations. Ian recently appeared on BBC TV’s BBC Breakfast programme to demonstrate iBeacons, showing how they have the power to transform the retail shopping experience.
